JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager works with the Director of Clinic Operations in establishing, developing, planning and organizing operational and educational programs and functions in her capacity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises, trains, and supports clinic nursing staff, medical volunteers, and sonographers.
Delegates clinical responsibilities and evaluates staff performance.
Provides clinical mentoring and ongoing competency evaluations.
Schedules medical staff and ensures appropriate coverage for clinic operations.
Collaborates with the Medical Director to implement new medical programs or training.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nurse Manager performs the following functions:
Responsible for the oversight of medical and office supply ordering.
Assures all logs are meticulously kept.
Provides and maintains written reports for the facility where applicable.
Coordinates the functions of all clinical areas.
Maintains, reviews and revises policies and procedures.
Responsible for the maintenance of all patient care areas.
Responsible for ordering all patient care handouts.
Orients new employees about policies and procedures.
Conducts reviews and exit interviews with direct reports.
Responsible for reviewing and recording employee hours and PTO.
Assures that paid and unpaid staff receive adequate in-services and training.
Coordinates ancillary services provided to the patient.
Provides new staff orientation.
Works with patient and volunteer services coordinator to schedule volunteers.
Collaborates with Director of Patient Services to access conversion rates, no show, cancellation rates and testing performed.
Assures equipment, supplies and staff are available and in good working order.
Plans and coordinates paid and unpaid staff education programs.
Coordinates/conducts E H R training and concurrent review.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to plan and organize work well.
Must exhibit comprehensive knowledge of pregnancy center counseling, STI and pregnancy testing and underlying principles of pregnancy center clinic procedures.
Must display knowledge of organization, functions and policies of other facility areas and how they relate to patient care.
Must display thorough knowledge of pregnancy center-based counseling.
Must display basic knowledge of management and personnel administration.
Must display knowledge of equipment and supplies used in a medical office.
Must display knowledge of payroll processing.
Ability to work with committees as required.
Knowledge of pro-life healthcare practices and trauma-informed care is beneficial.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in Florida.
CPR/BLS certification (required); ultrasound training or willingness to be trained in limited obstetric ultrasound (preferred).
Minimum of 2–3 years clinical nursing experience; 1+ year supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in women’s health, prenatal care, and STI education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
May require prolonged periods of standing and occasional lifting of equipment or assisting patients.
Ability to operate medical and office equipment (e.g., ultrasound machine, computer, printer).
Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures.
Must be able to handle exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases with proper protective gear.
