Women's Services at BUMC
Introduction: At Baylor University Medical Center Dallas, we recognize that a woman doesn't just need specialized care during childbirth, but throughout her life. BUMC is ranked annually as the "Best Place to Deliver a Baby." We are dedicated to providing an extensive array of services that address the full breadth of maternal child health. The Chaplain Resident will be part of the Interdisciplinary Team for your foci.
This specialty will provide a context for gaining expertise in the following areas of Pastoral/Spiritual Care:
Obstetrics: Obstetrics at BUMC cover the entire scope of maternal needs, from paternal care to post-partum support. These services combine the advanced technology expectant mothers expect with the compassionate care they deserve.
The Caruth Labor and Delivery Center: Women labor, deliver and recover in the Labor and Delivery Rooms. Each room is discretely equipped with advanced technology while being beautifully decorated. These spacious rooms allow for care to be brought to the mother and her baby, letting the new family remain together during the entire birth process.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): The NICU is a level 3 unit, the highest level of care available, that provides life-support services and technologies for premature and seriously ill newborns.
