The Division VP for Ethics contributes to the mission CommonSpirit Health by leading Ethics Services operations across the Division, including coverage of acute care hospitals, ambulatory care sites, clinic sites, home health ministries, behavioral health services, long term care facilities, and other services across the continuum of care. The VP is directly employed by the Theology and Ethics Department at the CommonSpirit Health system office and reports to the Senior VP for Mission Innovation, Theology and Ethics.
The VP works closely with the Theology and Ethics Department and Theology and Ethics VPs in other Divisions to implement and maintain system-wide ethics programs and initiatives. The VP in concert with the Division SVP Mission and other senior and high-level leaders across the Division on a routine basis meet to identify and support a wide range of initiatives in the delivery of Catholic healthcare. The role designs and implements strategies aligned with best practice standards for Catholic healthcare ethics and clinical and organizational ethics. The VP engages with internal and external leaders, providers, managers, patients and community members, including the local ordinary and diocese, as appropriate.
Five or more years’ experience in healthcare ethics, preferably in Catholic healthcare.
Proven achievements in the domain of Healthcare Ethics.
Significant experience in healthcare ethics delivery within a Catholic healthcare organization or demonstrated understanding of and experience with the ERDs.
