The Priest Chaplain plays a key role in Catholic healthcare by addressing the spiritual needs of patients/residents, families, and staff in a holistic manner. Provides the sacraments to Roman Catholic patients/residents, presides at Mass, leads special ceremonies, and provides counsel on church teaching. Also serves as staff chaplain for assigned clinical areas. Responds to emergency requests 24/7, in regular rotation for an on-call schedule. Functions independently, yet collaboratively, as a member of the pastoral care team and reports to the Director of Pastoral Care.
