Govig Healthcare Group, the premier Executive Search firm in the Senior Care industry, is partnering with a not-for-profit, Catholic-sponsored Skilled Nursing (SNF) organization in New Jersey to find an experienced Chief Operating Officer.
The Chief Operating Officer oversees all business and healthcare activities of the communities plus consolidated back-office operations. In coordination with the Board of Trustees, the COO will establish the strategic vision and implementation strategy for the various business units and lead a team of healthcare professionals to provide superior customer service and resident satisfaction in a positive, team-oriented environment.
The Chief Operating Officer utilizes courtesy, dignity, and respect in all of the following:
- Evaluating existing management teams and recruiting/developing new talent as needed.
- Ensuring consistent management structure and operating procedures across both facilities and all departments in accordance with newly established organizational charts.
- Championing technology adoption, especially PointClickCare
- Developing standardized key performance metrics and reporting protocols to measure clinical and financial performance. Instituting action plans to improve underperforming areas
- Communicating with the Board of Trustees on regular basis regarding facility performance, lender compliance, mission achievement, strategic initiatives, etc.
- Establishing annual operating budgets and taking action to achieve them
- Identifying revenue enhancement/expense management opportunities
- Collaborating with the Marketing and Community Development team to develop an integrated brand. Foster a “single provider, multi-facility” mentality across internal and external constituents
- Collaborating with all department managers to develop a robust regulatory compliance program achieving 5-star CMS rating
- Establishing an effective “stand-up” meeting process and other internal communication procedures to foster transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Representing the organization at external meetings including hospital systems, managed care providers, unions, etc.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance including local, state, and federal agencies
Experience Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years LHNA designation
- Multi facility and regional oversight experience
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and successful team-building experience
- Progressive professional experience with exposure to all areas of skilled nursing
- Professional demeanor and exceptional communication skills
- Not-for-profit and/or religious affiliation experience preferred.
