This position holds the honor of continuing the mission of the Sisters of Providence who established this ministry of serving elders, the poor and vulnerable in their final years of life nearly 100 years ago at this very location.
The Spiritual Care Director participates within an interdisciplinary team to provide whole person care providing physical, emotional and spiritual healing, especially for those in transition, suffering or loss – yet also to celebrate the vibrancy and joy possible throughout all stages of life. A particularly vibrant part of The Mount is the intergenerational aspect, recognized nationally and internationally for its on-site child care program and unique methods of bringing the very old and the very young together through programming and even service projects. Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or Spirituality from an appropriately accredited college or university.
Completion of an accredited NACC or ACPE accredited program
Minimum of 4 quarters of clinical pastoral education
Certification by NACC or other qualifying body
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
5 years of experience as a chaplain
5 years of Progressive responsibility for leadership functions. Management experience.
NACC, NAJC, APC or CASC
Advanced training in ethical, religious and spiritual dimensions of loss, illness, and bereavement.
